Conservation and sustainable use of natural resources in Africa.
Communities own and sustainably use their natural resources
We believe in the significance of indigenous and endogenous knowledge systems
- We believe that the journey begins with what people already know and do
We believe that scientific and local knowledge are complementary
- We believe in the ‘Two eyes see’ principle
We believe that conservation is primarily about people
To promote good governance and democratic practice in building community-based institutions, as essential requirements for sustainable development and effective natural resource management.
We use theatre and other communication tools to raise awareness and understanding of complex development issues. We also provide a platform from which communities can articulate of what they already know, do and need.
- STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS
We facilitate strategic partnerships through dialogue between communities and other conservation stakeholders
- COMMUNITY CAPACITY BUILDING
We provide tools and programmes to develop people to determine, plan and implement their own development agenda
- ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT
We facilitate community enterprise development in the economy based around conservation and the use of natural resources
- ADVOCACY and RESEARCH
We enable thought leadership and policy development in the space in which we work. We also undertake research relating to our work.
